Kerry,
Ben is from the Blackjack & Dazzle litter from Oct 31st 2007. He has really come on in his second and third years, stylish point as shown in the pictures and a wonderful natural back. Just needed to finally get him into more birds, hope the population can come back up some next year. He loves to hunt and is really getting good at handling running roosters. Loves the water. He has such a great, sweet personality and has never growled at me for anything from pulling burrs to doctoring sores. He has hunted pheasants, quail, prairie grouse, a few woodcock. Great dog! Thanks.
C.J. ............. Iowa

Kerry & Marian,
Just a note to tell you how well Pickel (Winkem X Blackjack) 8 mos old, is doing. She had her first covey point last Tuesday and it was very stylish and staunch, tail and head held high. She hunts hard and is beginning to get the idea. It appears she will be a natural at backing. Molly is a good model dog for Pickel and they work well together. Pickel is quick to learn and a joy around the yard with the grandkids. I couldn't be more pleased. Snow is melting so maybe I can get some pictures now. Will send them when I have some.
Happy New Year.

Good morning,
It has been about 1and ½ years since we picked up our puppy. We just thought you should see him; he is so handsome! We love him dearly!

Thanks for a rock solid setter...

Hi Kerry
We just wanted to send an update on the puppy we got from you. Lucy is from the Reba and Citation litter. (1/30/08) She arrived here in perfect condition. The people at Northwest Cargo in Detroit were so nice to her, giving her fresh bedding while she waited for us to get there. She is fitting in nice here and loves to be outside, playing and running around with her new English Setter sisters. She also likes to go on long walks on our property. She went for her first swim last week in the pond, which she seemed to enjoy. Thanks again, she is a perfect match for us. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Hi! Kerry & Marian , its been awhile, in fact it has been over 10 years since I received my first setters from you . Things are going Great and I still have two (Hunter & Dakota) left. I have tried a few other lines but none measure up to Havelock.
R.M. .............. New Foundland

We thought we would take a moment of your time and tell you that Beatlez is wonderful.... he is the best of the 3 dogs we have gotten from you in the past. He is HUGE! at 4 months he is a wopping 46 pounds and that is muscle. He has 5 acres to run and hunt on from the time the sun comes up to it going down! He is not afraid of ANYTHING... we will have to watch him with the snakes come summer time... he catches at least one quail a week and numerous doves all on his own. Also with that list is LIZARDS.....:) We are going to start getting him ready for some field trials.... HE IS GOING TO BE A WINNER.    D. and W. J. ......... Arizona

Hi Schorsch Family,
Just wanted to let you know that Lilly is a great family dog! Here are some pics. I know it looks like she spends a lot of time on the couch, but she is getting plenty of exercise too:)
Thanks,
Z.C. ................ Wyoming

Marian:  Thanks for the reply. The "pup" is doing great and has taken over the household. She is a quick learner and although at times has a mind of her own, she is the most calm and well mannered 4 month puppy anyone around here has seen. She is pointing everyday - mostly grouse but she has seen a pheasant in the yard and did well. It's the golden eagles and great blue Herons we get down by the lake that she loves; so if there is ever a season on them we have the dog for you! Thanks for the response. Have a very Merry Christmas and great New Year.  T. & P. M. .............. Washington

HI Kerry,
I wanted to send you a picture of Mr Peabody – we named him Buster – you are so right about him. .what a character. He is a once in a lifetime dog – he reminds us of a person dressed in a puppy suit. He is so very curious and very smart. He fell asleep in our son’s bed and so he covered him up and he slept for two hours like that. What a funny guy!  Thanks again for letting us have him, we love him dearly.  S.S. ............ Colorado

Hi,
I have a 5 year old male out of Powerball and Copper Doll. I neutered him before he was a year old, he’s been a great dog, also he’s kind of big like over 70 pounds I think and at the top of my knee.  He loves the water, backs naturally, listens to me well, retrieves (not real pretty) naturally (even has made a couple water retrieves), will hunt himself sick, quiet in the house, howls like a hound dog when a plane goes over the house (funny as hell) and tough as nails but soft to handle.  Hunts with his head high, kind of glides when he runs, covers a pot full of ground in a hurry. He likes to hunt out to 100-150 yards/200 yards in the wide open when I let him, points at distances up to 40/50 yards if there’s a little breeze in his face and real careful not to bust his birds (always been like that), he has been pointing things since the day I brought him home. I can shorten him up to 50-75 yards but have to talk to him (not cuss at him) quite a bit more than I normally do when hunting.  I pretty much hunt Pheasants on foot. Once in a great while I might go look for Chukars or Huns but not real often.  Any way if you haven’t guessed I’m pretty partial to him. I’m thinking maybe next year I’ll want another. So do you have plans for breedings that might suit me? If you do which crosses would you suggest?  B.B. ........... Wyoming

Kerry, two years ago we received our last addition of a Havelock Setter, and after a wonderful hunt last week in North Dakota I wanted to send out a note on how happy our entire family is with Nellie (Shorty/Blacksmith), Haley (Reba/Clippership), and Ruby (Blackjack/Razel). Special note, we also picked up a 5 year old setter with Hemlock breeding, not a hunter but a worthy rescue.   We will certainly be replenishing our family members when they move into their later years. I can't tell you how many times their stunning points have drawn ooohs and aahs from our hunting companions. This past year we needed to separate the dogs from hunting together because they were clearly capable of being the lead dog in a group of 7 (setters, shorthairs, pointers). Unfortunately we only get to hunt them several months a year, and maybe that's appropriate because of the beating they put themselves through while in the field. When the off season comes, we enjoy getting all 4 setters together and watch them romp, play, chase fish in the shallows of the lake, and watch attentively from positions in the boat while the boys are water skiing. The list goes on and on, and we thoroughly enjoy every moment with the GIRLS.   Thanks again Kerry, I hope you never lose your passion for producing some of the best setters in the US.   B.D. .............. Wisconsin

Hi Kerry and Marian,
I just wanted to let you know how impressed we are with the pup we got from you this summer (Nina). She went out on her first hunt yesterday and did an amazing job. They had their limit of birds in a short time. My husband said she was a "hunting machine". At only six months old she did better than some of the mature dogs that were being hunted within that area. She is also an amazing family dog and has become a good watchdog for our little girl. My guess is you will be hearing from us in the next year or two to see about getting a second pup from you.  Thanks again,  K.H. ......... Wyoming

Just wanted to let you know we got the crate refund. Thank you.  Nina is quite the character. Between her and our daughter there is no lack of entertainment around our house. Her crate training is coming along well with only one accident in the house. She loves to ride in the pickup (the front, not so much the back) and really loves our daughters slide.  Her color changes daily we are excited to see what coloring she ends up with.  Right now the patches on her face are getting darker and she is getting beautiful speckles all over her body. Unfortunately they still don't show up in a picture.  Thanks again,  KH...Wyoming

Hi folks,
I got Crystal from you 15 years ago - Ike x Bluey. Well she's still a goin concern. She hunted all this fall with the support of a visla and gsr. She's pretty slow now and the rumatiz is settin in same as me. She still weighs 35 lb. Eyes are fine [ she spots the geese comin in way ahead of me] a little deaf . Still hates cats! She's had zero illnesses none. Never tangled with a porcupine just circles them and barks till I get there. Comes in the duck boat and wants to jump out and retrieve but still whoa's perfect. She did water fetch all our ducks for 12 years 200 yd swims were common. I've trained her on explosive and drug detection and have used her in my security job at our airport. She's too pretty to be a cop and gets in real close. Well just a note on one of yours and thank you for my best friend...
D.S. ........ Manitoba

I wanted to drop a note to let you know how much we enjoy the female we got from you just over 1 year ago.  She is an excellent hunter with fantastic pointing instincts. She has quickly become a integrated part of our family both indoors and in the field. We hunt every single weekend (public, private, and preserves).   I have been a lab owner for many years and have to admit I was gun-shy about making the switch to the English Setter. I belong to the local chapter of NAVHDA. After one day in the field with one of the trainers, the comment was “There’s nothing wrong with this dog.”  We are extremely happy and love this dog to no end.  I’m considering adding another one of your dogs to our hunting family in the near future.  Thank you.  B.P. ................ South Dakota

Kerry and Marian,
Hello. I picked up my male, tri color setter from you in August 2009 and brought him to his new home in *****. Like any puppy, it’s been a joy and a challenge and overall I’m very pleased with him. He is very active and as long as I’ve given him plenty of exercise outside he settles down nicely when indoors. I’ve had him out hunting several times this year and he’s coming along very well.   He has a very good nose and a lot of desire, enthusiasm and drive to find birds. This is the first English setter I’ve had and you’ve done a very good job of breeding in terms of ability and conformation and I thank you for all your good work in providing me a very good hunting dog and companion. Attached is a picture of “Sage” at six months.  Thanks again and take care,  J.L. ............ North Dakota

Kerry,
I just wanted to provide you a quick update regarding our last email and our hunting trip to North Dakota. We spent 4 days around Willington N.D. pheasant hunting, and had an amazing hunt. The birds were more spread out and less in numbers than previous years according to the local people we met. But we had success everyday with persistent hunting.
The experience was invaluable for my dog Jesse. As you might recall, I was a bit concerned about him ranging too far, and you mentioned a check cord at first. I fortunately did not have to use the cord, and again was amazed by Jesse's natural instinct. He knew exactly how far to hunt in front of us, and covered more territory doing so than the other two dogs combined (2 German Shorthairs and 1 Pointing Lab).  He pointed and held so many pheasants......I can't tell you how proud I was of my English Setter. He might have been the only one disappointed at my lack of shooting skills, although persistence and his ability to point and hold the birds until nearly under my feet ended up equalizing the situation.  We are going to Idaho next week for another week of hunting, and I can't wait! I only wish we had as many birds as you do in North Dakota........but I am convinced that the English Setter is the hunting equalizer, giving us the best opportunity for success.
Thank you again for your help and recommendations, and most of all for Jesse.  C.B. ........... California

Kerry,
Well we've had "Twig" now since Aug 11th (Destiny X Dapper Dan). I couldn't be more pleased. So far, at 13 weeks he is exactly what I was hoping for. He is very intelligent and super easy to train. Just a riot to have around, has tons of personality, is confident and is afraid of nothing. I take him for a run in the woods almost every day for 30 minutes or so before work and have started check cording him. We have been working on pigeons with sets of 3 pigeons 3 - 4 times a week. We started the pigeon work at 11 weeks old. This evening he held a point for 77 secs!!!! He just loves to point and he hasn't missed a bird yet.   Thank you very much for producing such a nice pup. I'll give you updates from time to time, and send you some pics when I figure out how to download them.   S.P. .................. Michigan

Kerry,
Been meaning to send this for a few weeks.  Awesome picture my wife took of "Wesson".  You were correct, he is an awesome dog!  He is settling in fine.  Hope all is well in N Dakota.

Hi Kerry,
It has been quite some time since we have talked. Sorry no hunting pictures at the present but for some reason we have had rain on going now for the past 2+ weeks without hardly a days relief.   What is it about a white dog and rain and dirt? I feel like I have 2 children who can’t stop playing out in the rain. But what I really can’t understand is that I have the only two that like to play in the mud. I know they are brother and sister, but this is ridiculous.   Hope all is going well. These two are fantastic!!!   As you said when I decided to take two, two really is better than one.  T.E. ............. New Jersey

Hi Kerry, I wanted to send you a pic of Maggie her first time in the field. I hunted her on quail here in Kentucky. She was great the first time out. Maggie is the most natural bird dog I have ever had, we love her! She is also a great home companion. Maggie is out of Blackjack and Dazzle. We picked her up from the airport a year ago today.

Thanks! M.L. ........... Kentucky

Dear Kerry,
On the 20th of December marked 1 year since my wife and I went to Newark Airport and picked up Sadie and Cody. I don’t know if you remember, but we had chosen Sadie from the litter, but 1 day before shipping, we, actually I, decided that Cody should come along as well. Sure made a surprise for everyone when they looked into the cage and saw two butts and 2 tails.  Just wanted you to know that it has been a super success. The dogs have been terrific. A real joy. Training has also gone very well.  Sorry that I can’t send you a picture of them with hunting jackets and pointing. Sadie injured her paw twice and needed stitches once. I am so tired of wrapping and keeping it dry. But both have been fantastic both in the house and outside.   Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year!!

Hi there.
Thought is was time to share a picture of Mr. Matt. As you can see in these pictures, he's growing more beautiful by the day and rules the house as well as had all of our heart.
Take care and enjoy!

Hello,
We absolutely love the new puppy!  He is right at home with the other dogs and kids.  I am attaching a few photos of Blacksmoke.  He is so smart and such a fast learner.  We are very pleased.  Thanks again,
J and C M. .... West Virginia

We named her Sierra. She looks good very level headed. Has yet to have an accident in her puppy pen in the basement. Only whined the first evening and settled right in. Seems to want to keep and eye on you and loves to run in the clover field out front. Glad to see her level head. She retrieves in a hallway and has a little bit of point with wing and fishing pole. Seems attentive and wants to be with you. Off to a good start we have our fingers crossed. I love the shape and her markings. Thanks we will keep in touch.  B.K. ............ Indianapolis

Kerry:
We picked up the pup on Wednesday as scheduled. She was sound asleep when we first saw her. What a great little puppy. She is curious and bold and so playful. She plays hard, then sleeps. What fun. Her markings are very nice and I expect the flecking to continue to develop.  I’m planning to work with her as she develops and matures and will have her ready to explore North Dakota (New Town area) by September. We have a grouse and partridge hunt planned for early September……and then again in October after pheasant season opens. I’ll keep you posted on her progress.  I’m very impressed with your website, your organization (you made it very easy to select, purchase and receive a puppy without visiting your kennel), and with the quality of hunting and family dog you provide at Havelock kennels. I can’t wait to see how Jemma develops. (English name with Latin origin…..”jewel”)

Kerry,
Thought I'd send you an update on the puppy I bought from you last summer. Molly (Reba X Dan) had a good season on Quail and Pheasant this past year. She had a few points and one beautiful retrieve. When pointing she keeps her head high and her tail is straight up. I have not done any training, other than taking her hunting every time I went, because she acts like a big puppy. So now that she is approaching one year in age I'm starting to work on commands. She is very quick to pick up on what I want and I believe she may be the smartest dog I've ever owned. She is very biddable and the most beautiful dog I have ever had. She looks exactly like her mother, minus the brown on her muzzle. As a matter of fact she looks just like the dog in your hunting pictures titled "Gunner". I don't have any pictures from this past season but when I get some and send them to you.   Also, I have continued to feed her Purina One, Lamb & Rice. Is that what you feed your adult dogs? She has filled out beautifully and is very strong and has unbelievable endurance. She is not the least overweight.
Hope that you had a good year.  J.W. ............ Illinois

Greetings and Happy New Year!
Just a quick note to let you know that Duce and Storm are doing phenomenal! They were whelped 8/05 from Blackjack and Dazey.  They both possess great talent, style and love to point the birds.  Thanks for two wonderful champions!

Hi Kerry,  Thought I would send you a note to let you know that I sent the crate back to you yesterday. You should receive it UPS in a few days.  Both puppies arrived perfectly. No problems, no issues. As you know, I purchased the second puppy the day before shipment, and you accommodated my request without any problems. Thanks for your help.  Both puppies have fit the mold of your letters on the internet. Although they were not house broken when we got them, the female has been almost perfect since the first week, and the male is not that far behind.  After 2 weeks, the male is already pointing, and both are doing exceptionally well out doors. We are outside every day, rain, snow, shine, or evening, and I have had a lot of success at training both without leashes. Your suggestions on the web have been super helpful.  Thought I would send you a picture of both that I took last evening. Feel free to use it on your website if you would like.  T.E. ............ Cody is doing very well.  Looks like he is going to be a natural retriever.  He is growing like a weed.  He has been on a few excursions to the fields/woods looking for woodcock with his kennel mates.  He tries so hard to keep up with them.  He seems to be quick to learn and eager to please.  I'm very happy with this pup.  I hope to get out there someday.  I was very impressed with the area.  Thanks for everything.  J.C.  .....................   Indiana

Hi Kerry,
Just a quick note to update you on my last pup.
Tucker is proving to be a confident, smart, eager to please young dog.
I'm a thrilled with his progress.
Thank you for another wonderful dog.

Pup #10, Havelock's Blackwatch Mego, arrived safe and sound, slept 45 minutes on the drive home, woke up and sauntered into the house like she owned it!   All evening long, she has been retrieving "to lap" everything in sight, socks, squeak toys, etc., see attached. She is balanced, stable..., very nice.  Mego is a pistol! My wife Carol and I are VERY IMPRESSED!  The only thing I can say for sure about your puppy right now, is that if my health holds out for a few years, she will have an opportunity to become the very best she can be. If you see some dust on the horizon this late Sept. southeast of you, look for a Havelock pup saying, "Hold this leash, and watch me go!"  Thanks so much to both of you,

Hi Kerry:  We just wanted to Thank You for the beautiful puppy.  We really like Cabela.  It was really nice to meet you.  Sorry, we couldn't stay longer, but we were both tired and it is a long drive home.  Cabela was real good on the ride home.  She didn't seem to mind the ride at all. She ate and drank water in the car, and ran around a lot at the way-side rests on the way home.  We enjoyed doing business with you. You sure have a beautiful set-up for raising dogs.  If you ever need references, feel free to give them our phone number or e-mail address.  Thanks again for everything.

Hey Kerry,  Thanks for shipping me one of those Happy Customer dogs! The pup has exceeded my every expectation. Before I purchased my dog I read each and every one of the happy customer reports, and Fletcher can do all that and more. Here’s the eight-month report:

· Fearless – he arrived by air freight and it didn’t bother him in the slightest
· His #1 goal from day 2 was to get in the truck –he’s a great rider
· Housebroken – I don’t know how you do it, and other people have mentioned it…but the pup was pretty much housetrained right out of the box!
· The second he gets outside he is hunting – sparrows, rabbits, squirrels, grasshoppers. Moths, etc
· Handsome hound -People stopping me in the street asking me “what kind of dog is that!”
· Beautiful, stylish point! High tail and rock solid!!!
· Best nose you’re likely to find in the field (we might try some field trials!)
· Mild house personality – intense field worker. The best of both worlds.
· He loves to carry things around with him… a ball, or something - A good retriever? We'll see!
· This dog absolutely loves water, and at 5 months was a strong swimmer
· He learns very quickly and truly wants to please

I gave him a pheasant wing, and while he was playing with it, three small feathers must have fallen off into the grass. These feathers were barely bigger than a blade of grass, and the next day he found all three. That’s a nose!!! I’m really looking forward to see what he can do in the field.

Thank you for the great dog!  Here's a few pics.

Kerry, we would like to order a female out of the Razzle and Citation litter.
Below is a picture of our previous purchased Havelock setters back in August of 2004 and March of 2005. I house Nellie, and my son Joe owns Haley. Ruby will be with my son Nick who recently bought a home and is anxious to have his own Setter. Nellie and Haley are constant companions both in the field and during the week. I've never been around better tempered dogs. Your breeding is just excellent. Some other strengths that I didn't expect would be so strong is swimming (they are constantly in the lake at our cottage and some times swim up to an half-hour without coming into shallow water), and mushing (we ski-journ and the two dogs have mushing harnesses and love to pull us across the winter snow).  Thanks again for maintaining this great line of setters. We constantly visit your web site and hope we'll have this breeding available for a life time.

Kerry & Marian,
Just a quick note and update on Sioux-zie (3/04: Powerball & Nancy). She’s great!! She’s a wonderful family dog all year round and a wonderful hunting companion in the fall. Last year was her inaugural hunt in central North Dakota, and she was awesome! I was blown away by her performance and she certainly dazzled the rest of the hunting party as well. I was very proud of her. She and I have a few things to work on this summer to get ready for the upcoming pheasant season, but I have no worries or concerns. Thank goodness she came with lots of internal instinct, because the things we need to work on are more for my sake than for hers. At home she’s the biggest baby in the house. She’s so affectionate, sassy, and animated you’d think she was human. She’s not our pet, she’s a member of our family. Thank you for a wonderful dog!

Kerry,  Attached you will find the record of all of my dog  Ben's Placements in AKC field trials.  He is now 9 years old and I have decided not to enter him in anymore trials.  I hope you are amazed as much as I was with this record of one of Havelock Blacksmith's sons.  FC Whittiers Big Ben (Ben)  (Field Champion) (61 awards with AKC trials)

Kerry,  Sorry we got cut off the other day. The cell phone reception is still a little spotty in NH. As I was telling you, Gus arrived on time and in very good shape. My impression after the first 48 hours is that I have never had a brighter, more adaptable and better socialized puppy! Emphasis the word “puppy”. He’s ALL of that, but has quickly learned the most important rules of the house and the boundaries for his behavior that will keep him safe. He rarely needs to be corrected with anything more than a firm NO, and takes an obvious pleasure in being praised … he’s been getting that a lot! I couldn’t be happier, and am looking forward to building on the good start you and your program have given him.  Your kennel was recommended by a vet in Wisconsin that I was speaking with about setters. He told me he has three of your dogs in his care, and feels they are all excellent examples of the best qualities of the breed. When he said he’d be contacting you himself when his dog reaches the end of her hunting career in a couple years, I was convinced. He’s a very welcome addition to the family.  Best Regards, and Thanks Again for all your help!  C.M. .................... New Hampshire

Hi Kerry,  I just wanted to let you know that the pup (Dakota) finally made it to Newfoundland last night and is having a ball playing with the kids. Karen picked up the dog on the 27th and shipped it to "the rock" via West Jet yesterday afternoon. I haven't seen the pup - I'm still working up north but my wife is extremely pleased! Just to let you know I will not be returning the kennel (its not feasible because of my location) but I will be registering the dog. We would like to take the time to thank you for your troubles. We have dealt with other kennels who showed absolutely no interest whatsoever to ship us a dog. You obviously take great pride in your setters and I commend you for that. If anybody requires a reference feel free to give them my contact info. I'll send you some pictures this fall, hopefully I will have her pointing ptarmigan by then!  Thanks for Everything,  Scott B ................. Newfoundland

Kerry, Flight arrived at 5:02 and we picked up the puppy at 6:10 P.M. A long day for the little guy. (Swiss Port Cargo even called me to make sure I was in route – as we were entering the airport. Good job Swiss Port!)  Dog is beautiful, in great shape, and our Vet gives you high marks – breeding, socializing, and even your paperwork!  I think the dog is in a rich environment as the whole family played with him yesterday – so much so that he slept the whole night through. Already retrieving a ball of paper and bringing it back; also pointed at an overnight dove roost in our flower bed this morning.  I could not be more pleased . . .M.G. .................. Virginia

Kerry, Pups arrived and everything is great.  Thanks for providing me the experience of selecting and receiving some quality puppies.  I have and will continue to provide a very good recommendation of your business to anyone looking to purchase a quality gun dog.  Your business etiquette and honesty are by far the most appreciated facets of what your dog breeding program offers, followed closely by the quality puppies your breeding program has produced.  Your bloodlines include
some of the best of the Setter Breed. My wife stated the puppies have been very easy to housebreak in the few days they have been home.  The kids love the pups and they will no doubt be spoiled rotten by the time I get back from Iraq.  Again, thanks for the experience.  P.B. .................. Nebraska

Update on Clara. She's from Dickens and Spy -August 2004. Absolutely terrific! However, she does eat some strange things: socks, thin running glove and the leg of a pantyhose. Interesting yard duty.  We have a wilderness cabin near Boundary Waters and she stays within 75 yards of cabin.

I shipped back the crate. You should have gotten it or will get it shortly. Riley is doing great. I started him on quail which he pointed like a pro. Today we hunted him on chuckar and pheasant. Here's a couple pics of him on point. Have a Merry Christmas.     J.B.  ..................  Illinois

Kerry and Marian:

I just want to thank you for the wonderful dog. After a two week gun dog training session she was ready to hunt. She points, retrieves  does it all. Being a house dog she fits in with our family perfect, just an absolute joy. Thank you.

Hi, Kerry!
Katie has been a wonderful addition to our family.  She has taken to hunting with such enthusiasm and drive.  Our daughter has taught her to shake and my wife has her rolling-over.  Her pointing skills are unbelievable and some of my friends can't believe how much she loves pushing cattails - can't see her but when the hawk screech goes off you know she found a bird.

Hi Kerry,
This is a picture of Buck on point. He is turning out to be a great dog. He is not quite a year old and I have shot 40-50 pheasants over his points. He is really good at finding crippled birds.

Hello,
Just thought I would give you a positive update on Rose (Destiny).  I have since named her Tess which seems to have stuck.  She has done very well this season-she has been fortunate to hunt ruffed grouse, woodcock, Huns, Sharptail, Sage grouse and pheasant.  With some luck, she will also get into some chukars yet too.  She hurt her front shoulder in mid-October which the vets couldn't figure out, even with x-rays.  She has since healed up and is doing well.  The pup, Abby, got to tag along last weekend and enjoyed chasing hens which is a good sign.  Thanks,  J.H. ...............  Montana

Just wanted to drop another line thanking you folks for the best dog I've ever owned!  Frosty is out of Havelock Blacksmith and Havelock Dickens and the sweetest natured, most intelligent (scary at times how smart he is) and loyal dog I've ever been around.  I've owned hundreds, having hunted all my life and run Beagles and Labs in trials in my youth.  Now I just upland bird hunt with Frosty.  He's curled up next to me as I type this--- cold night here in St. Louis, 12*, after having over 70* just five days ago-- heck of a change!  Thought I might try to visit someday, perhaps hunt a bit up there-------getting old and would love to see where Frosty came from------I'll try for next year.   K.L.  .....................  Missouri

Hi Kerry,
I just wanted to send you a quick note and thank you for such a quality dog. I bought a male pup from your Powerball & Belle litter last July 2005 and I couldn't be happier! I also wanted to tell you that If you plan on breeding Powerball again please let me know as I would be interested in another pup from him.
Thanks Again,

Kerry and Marian,

I just thought I would drop you a quick note and a picture- as you can see, Gunnar is fitting into the D--- family just fine!  He is such a smart boy- in the 2 weeks he has been here, he has already learned, "sit", fetches his stuffed pheasant and takes it to dad, and is almost housetrained. Mike is looking forward to getting out to work with him and some real birds.  Thanks again for a great pup,  Mike and Kim D. and "Gunnar"

Ruby & Clipperships pup #4  born on March 19, this week I took this 6 month pup out Pheasant hunting, with a little  doubt that she would (catch on to this Pheasant hunting), so young, well was i pleased she hit the field running caught some scent and was on solid point within 100 yards of my truck, I approached her and the bird moved and she moved forward, the bird flushed and was downed!  She worked really well for three days in rain and snow we would not have filled out without her. She is loving and kind to my grand kids. Thanks Kerry and Marian for a great dog, Think what this dog will do with some training!

It is still very green down in South Texas but Maggie is coming along fine.  She's been in training about 5 weeks and is making great progress.  There are a lot of great hunting dogs down here, most of them pointers.  It sure is fun to watch the faces drop when my setters hit the field.  Mack is more than ready for year 2.

Greetings Kerry and Marian,  I hope your hunting season is going well. Mine is off to a great start. The Setter I purchased from you 3 1/2 years ago is World Class. She is the best I have ever owned (out of 4 setters) and I wouldn't sell her for anything. I was offered $10,000. Too many good years ahead.  S.S.   ......................   North Dakota
